In May, Azot-2 OOO, a subsidiary of Azot, the first resident of the Kuzbass Special Economic Zone, commissioned a liquid carbon dioxide production unit with a capacity of 50 thousand tonnes per year. 900 million roubles were allocated for the implementation of the project.

The guests also visited the new production building, the construction of which has increased the capacity of the engineering and design centre of the enterprise.

"The engineering and design centre, where import-substituting parts for shop equipment are created, is the pride of the plant. The advantage of own production is also the production of components in short terms. At the same time the production of complex chemical equipment is being mastered here," said Governor Ilya Seredyuk.

At Azot KAO special attention is paid to the implementation of environmental measures. The commission checked the process of reconstruction of AK-72/1,2 units with transition to low-temperature selective purification of exhaust gases, which is currently underway in the shop for the production of nitric acid. Completion of the project will increase the shop's capacity, improve its profitability and reduce the ecological load on the environment.

"Russia is one of the world's largest producers of mineral fertilisers and is a leader in fertiliser exports. Without fertilisers, it is impossible to talk about a systematic increase in crop yields. That is why the Russian Government has taken measures that in recent years have made it possible to significantly increase fertiliser supplies to the domestic market. Your plant is one of the leading producers of nitrogen fertilisers in the country," said Dmitry Patrushev.
