Ammoni AO implements artificial intelligence in production facilities

Ammoni AO
The DotPulse system was implemented in the ammonium nitrate shop. This is an innovative system for optical inspection of bulk materials. Using neural network algorithms, the device can detect nitrate granules by size, shape, colour and separate them into fractions. Even the sphericity of each granule is under the gaze of the device. This means that after such a precise selection, our consumers will receive a product of impeccable quality.

All analysis results are displayed on a graph, where the recognised granules are marked with different colours depending on the parameters.

‘If earlier, based on the requirements and norms, we analysed the products once in 4 hours, today the control process goes round the clock, with readings for every 5 minutes, which, of course, is reflected in the quality,’ said Vyacheslav Shevchenko, head of the ammonium nitrate production shop.

The process is fully automated, which significantly saves labour and energy costs for the shop's employees.
’Ammoni AO systematically introduces digital technologies into production. Last year, thanks to the coordinated work of specialists from the production, commercial and IT blocks, we managed to automate and optimise the process of shipment and sale of finished products, which significantly reduced the time for these processes. Today we are moving on to other areas of production. Each of the innovations is first tested and only after we see the real efficiency it is implemented in production,’ said Evgeny Abrakhmanov, IT Director of Ammoni AO.

The system was developed in Russia by residents of one of the country's innovation centres. Ammoni AO became one of the chemical industry enterprises that took part in the test trials of the equipment, with subsequent implementation in industrial operation.
