Meleuz Mineral Fertilizers AO in Bashkiria has mastered lean production technologies at a site producing ammonium nitrate from gaseous ammonia and plans to continue cooperation with the Federal Competence Centre (FCC) in other areas. Experts support the company in the course of work on the national project "Labour Productivity", the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic reported.
"During the time of participation in the project, the company has noted a 10 per cent increase in the output of the pilot stream. Experts of the Federal Competence Centre helped the company to master lean production technologies and increase productivity for six months. Upon completion of optimisation within the framework of the national project, the company is considering continuing work with experts in the following areas: improving equipment efficiency, personnel development through a culture of continuous improvement," the ministry said.
FCC experts note that participation in the project requires the interest of the management and the desire of employees themselves to improve labour productivity. For example, they take part in identifying problem areas affecting the quality and volume of goods produced. The company's main products are nitrogen fertilisers. The company is also the largest producer of ammonium nitrate in the country.
The National Project "Labour Productivity" is designed to create conditions for an annual increase in labour productivity in the country by 5%. A set of measures has been developed to help businesses, including financial incentives and expert consultations on the work of enterprises. The national projects initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin started in 2019.
