The document was signed at the St Petersburg International Gas Forum by Dmitry Makarov, CEO of Ammoni AO, and Aidar Tagirov, CEO of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Kazan AO, in the presence of Sergey Gustov, CEO of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz and Ammoni AO and Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The design capacity of Ammoni 2 will be 1.2 million tonnes of ammonia and 1.75 million tonnes of urea per year.
The main raw material for production will be natural gas, with Gazprom Mezhregiongaz providing the entire required volume. The signed agreement envisages supplying the complex with the required volume of gas for 30 years.
"The project will produce more than 2 million tonnes of nitrogen fertilisers per year, create more than 500 new jobs and ensure tax payments of more than RUB 67 billion by 2040," said Dmitry Makarov, CEO of Ammoni AO.
"Undoubtedly, the Russian Federation market is a priority for Gazprom Group. We are happy to welcome new consumers among agro-industrial enterprises, agricultural enterprises, and every house that is connected in the Republic and in Russia brings joy, that is why I am pleased to participate today in the signing ceremony with our largest consumer, the most reliable partner that pays for natural gas supplies in the Russian Federation on time and on schedule. I would like to wish you a good journey, in the person of Gazprom Mezhregionagaz and in the person of your reliable and high-quality partners! Thank you and I wish you success!", - wished Sergey Gustov.
"Today's example is an example of the fact that this is the volume of gas, maybe some regions only consume half as much as we signed today. This allows us to be a reference subject of Russia. The economy is measured by several parameters: how much cargo is transported, how much gas is consumed, how much electricity is generated. We are the second largest gas consumer in the country. Therefore, I would like to thank Gazprom for its support and, of course, the Ammonium company, it is working effectively today, participating in all our programmes of the Republic. "Ammonium 2" we will have even more than "Ammonium", so bon voyage! I would like to thank everyone for the support we are receiving within the framework of this project," summarised Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.
